Profession: Judge of Peace, currently working in MANC - Personality: As a judge of peace, Lucas is warm, smiling, welcoming. He knows that not all the couples who sign papers in his office are there of their free will. In fact, most aren't, so he tries to show compassion.
He's a good guy, dutiful, believes in the system. He used to be very trusting but recent event has put a crack in this. As a father, he's the kind to make the rules and expect his children to live by them. His compassion and warmth carry over at home, where he loves to take care of his kids no matter their age, and of his wife if she lets him.

Lucas was the first, very much wanted, baby of heterosexual couple. Paralyzed from the waist down, his adoptive mother could not have children. They required the use of a surrogate mother for him, but the three children that followed were adopted later on.
He was fairly popular in school, had good grades, never broke the rules. At home, he took care of his mother, all in all he was a good boy until he hit the late teens. He experimented drinking, smoking, tried drugs, but all of it was more of a social thing try with his friends, and he never got hooked on anything. He was caught by his father, smoking cigarettes, and after a long and hard lecture about how he had just one body and smoking was ruining it, Lucas quit.
He knew what he wanted to do by the time he reached the end of high school. He applied to Philadelphia's law school, and angled himself toward becoming a lawyer like his father. That didn't work out so well. In the few times that he found himself in debates, he proved not to be fast enough on his feet to make a difference. His father tried to help, but even he said that with this kind of mind, more analytic than aggressive, his place was not in front of a judge and jury, it was to be the judge...
Classes went smoothly afterward. He married shortly before turning twenty, because a girl he had been with a few times turned out to be pregnant with his baby. He did the right thing and provided them with the right kind of house and environment. She quit her studies, quit working and stayed at home doing whatever she pleased.
After a few brutal arguments - because if he was below average against another lawyer, normal people could find themselves scrambling in front of him in an argument - he managed to get through to her to keep the house clean for the kids. A second child followed four years later, and then another, but the marriage was a cold and distant one. He expected a divorce paper to come his way at any time.
Instead, he landed in hospital because a dizzy spell had had him fainting in his office. There, he learned that he had been slowly poisoned for the past few weeks, and the harm was done. He was, for all intent and purpose, sterile. His number of swimmers was so low and so weak that he may be able to do something in vitro, but nothing was certain.
The source of the toxin was found. His wife had replaced his morning vitamins by the toxin, saying that she was trying a new brand. The judgement was swift, and she was punished by being exiled. Lucas was left with the aftermath. A six year old daughter who didn't understand why her mother would never be back, a tn year old who understood just enough to grieve her mother and a fourteen year old who understood everything and hated her mother for abandoning them.
Lucas received his letter from the government a few days after his return home to let him know that his six weeks were starting from the moment this letter was printed. He had to get married before June 1st, or the warden of the camp where he worked would offer him a list of candidates to choose from... - Intimacy
