Profession: Model (lingerie mainly) - Personality: Warm and charming, Grace is very caring and devoted to close family and friend. She embraces the system, even if she feels no urge to have a family of her own for the time being. She is no wallflower and enjoys being the center of attention. She can be reasonable, however, and not throw a tantrum because the focus has momentarily moved away from her.
Aware of her beauty, she can display a certain amount of shallowness toward others, and be vain. She is socially selective, almost snobbish in that way, that she really only gives attention to people she thinks are good enough, and the rest may find her to be quite patronizing or condescending. Amelia Ashford dreamed of being a mother all her life. She was raised to believe it was her purpose in life, and she embraced it. So when making her quota turned out to be a challenge, that she suffered more miscarriages than otherwise, it took a hit on her morale. Her children became even more precious. She had a boy, and then another boy, and then after almost half a decade, a third boy. She was almost desperate for a girl, but also grew quite close to her deadline, when she went through a fertility treatment, and became pregnant again.
Grace Elizabeth Ashford was born, and she was dotted upon. Up until school started, she was given everything that she wanted, and even her brothers appeared to be giving the little girl all of their attention. Only Donovan, four years her senior, gave her a hard time. He did not like sharing the parent’s attention at all and compensated by acting out and picking on her. Of course, having her two older brothers and her parents to stand up for her, Grace never really found the need to fend off for herself.
During her primary school year, the young girl honed her charms and became a rather popular kid in school. She learned to pick on people herself, those she found too fat, too ugly, those who had thick glasses, or were simply different. She wasn’t a bully, but she wasn’t known to be most kind to those she considered beneath her. Among those that she agreed to take as friends, however, she was nice and sought to please.
As she grew older, she learned that her good looks mixed with charming manners were getting her further faster than being mean. She became that sweet, beautiful teenager but boy did she know how to collect favors. She had decent grades in school, never really putting an effort into it until creative writing entered her world. Even before she finished high school, she had won a beauty pageant, and had earned a contract with a teenager fashion company. She began to take really good care of her body, then. Earning money for skin care products and high end makeup was fun.
All through her late teenager years, she was keeping boys just close enough not to earn herself the title of ice queen, but she did have the reputation of tolerating nothing more than superficial petting, as if sex would transform her body forever in some significant way. When the first contract for lingerie modelling came about, her parents refused it for her: she was too young they said. When she turned eighteen, three weeks later, she received a second contract and she took it in spite of her parents being against it. It was her way to let them know that it was time to cut the cord, and let her be an adult.
Only she had no idea of what being an adult felt like. She knew how to stand up for herself, but she had never had to. Because of this, she found herself maneuvered in some contract that she would rather not have done, one of which was a BDSM-oriented lingerie collection. Before long, her two years of adult freedom were over, and she found herself in MANC, where the candidates did not lack, but none that she found up to her standards.
